We’ve built up a ten-year relationship with our team of freelance translators, who use the latest translation software but always put in the vital human ingredient. That’s where the translator’s experience—including life experience, which is important—pays off. We’re skilled at judging the most appropriate method for a particular translation, editing the text to be translated, and researching the subject-matter for the sake of accuracy. All this needs to be done before starting on the translation proper. It’s the key to a professional result.

Our birth
e-traducta started up in April 2001 in the Balearic Islands—in a small town in Mallorca called Santa Maria del Camí—as a one-stop shop for translations, copy editing, revision of texts written by non-native speakers, and language-related advice.
At that time, when new technologies, and especially the world wide web, were burgeoning, we at e-traducta thought that the future of language in general, and translations in particular, lay in making optimum use of the new data processing and digital tools. However, we were already aware that our technology drive wouldn’t succeed without strong human backup.
Thus equipped, we entered the 1st Business Innovation Competition of the Balearic Islands, organized by the by the iBit Foundation; and a few months later we won the 3rd Business Projects Competition, organized by the European Centre for Innovative Businesses (Balearic Islands).

After two years
Technology has come on a lot since then; but, with new concepts and ideas popping up all over the place, it’s still as true as ever that quality work relies upon the translator’s skill and professionalism.
